Chilling 16-year-old girl dancing moment is surprised by someone coming into the hotel room seconds before she is shot dead
THIS is the chilling moment when a dancing 16-year-old girl was shocked just seconds before she was shot dead by someone entering her hotel room.
Footage has emerged to illustrate the last moments of Kalecia Williams, who was killed on Boxing Day last year at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Atlanta.
The girl can be seen dancing in the TikTok video until something startles her.
Suddenly, the clip finishes with Kalecia stopping the video as she turns toward the entrance.
Soon after she was shot dead at around 12.23am on December 26 in her room on Peachtree Lane.
April Smith's mom tells Kalecia that she was not told of the death of her daughter until eight hours later.
She told FOX 5, "What happened after she made that last TikTok video at 12:02am and she was dead at 12:23am? I need answers."
Since then, in connection with the shooting, a 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, reckless actions and possession of a gun by someone under the age of 18.
Ms Smith, however, said that not enough is being done.
In a rally for justice, Ms Smith, along with other family members and relatives, went to the hotel on Tuesday.
"It was just a lot of foul play and I'm trying to put all the pieces together because I don't feel like the system is doing enough to help me," she said.
Kalecia was expected to go to an Airbnb chaperone party on December 26, but later it was discovered that another parent had arranged for them to stay at the Hyatt Regency.
Ms Smith said, "She was responsible for getting the hotel room for these minors,"
"Her name was on the hotel room for these minors, so I feel like she should be held accountable for my daughter's death as well."
What happened to Kalecia in the moments after she filmed the TikTok video is still unknown to the police, but a woman who was staying at the hotel that night recently got in contact with the family.
South Carolina's Kanautica Starkie reminded the news station of what she had learned.
She said, "They were shouting what hotel we at what hotel, she was panicking,"
"I saw two guys with a little girl come out of the elevator, carrying her.
"One had one leg, one had the other and they were saying she had been shot."
Starkie said she squeezed the 16-year-hand old's as paramedics were waiting to arrive.
She said she had taken a video of EMTs attempting to resuscitate Kalecia, which made the family of the teenager more suspicious of what had happened.
"The young girl said they moved my daughter's body because of the blood, but when we look at the video from the woman from South Carolina there was no blood, so we want to know the reason why you took her from the floor to the lobby."The young girl said they moved the body of my daughter because of the blood, but there was no blood when we watched the video of the woman from South Carolina, so we want to know why you took her from the floor to the lobby.
Kalecia's family is asking any witnesses to come forward, even if anonymously, to the Atlanta Police Department.
