Ohio Warehouse Shooting in New Albany Leaves 1 Dead, 5 Injured – Details and Arrest
NEW ALBANY, Ohio – A shooting at the KDC/One cosmetics warehouse in New Albany has resulted in one fatality and five injuries, local authorities reported today.
Around 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, gunfire erupted inside the facility when 28-year-old employee Bruce Reginald Foster III allegedly opened fire on his coworkers. At the time of the incident, approximately 150 employees were in the building. Emergency personnel quickly evacuated the workers to a safe location, and a 9 mm handgun was recovered from the scene.
New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones stated that the attack appeared to be intentional, and no prior issues or disputes had been reported involving the suspect. “It seems this was a targeted act against specific individuals,” he explained. Authorities confirmed that one victim died at the scene, and the five injured victims were transported to local hospitals; their current conditions have not been disclosed.
Following a 12-hour search, law enforcement officers, along with U.S. Marshals, located and arrested Foster at a residence in Columbus early Wednesday morning. He now faces charges, including aggravated murder. Police noted that Foster had been on the premises for several hours before the shooting occurred and that no prior warning signs had indicated such an event.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the reasons behind the shooting, though initial reports suggest it was a deliberate act rather than the outcome of a confrontation. Chief Jones expressed condolences to the victims' families and reassured the public that there is no immediate threat from Foster at this time.
Local residents have been urged to stay vigilant as the investigation continues. Officials also highlighted the importance of offering support to the victims and the wider community during this difficult time.
