Brazilian gang recorded themselves killing Gabriela Lima Santana
A Brazilian gang reportedly filmed a woman's murder and dismemberment.
Brazilian gang members allegedly filmed themselves murdering a 21-year-old woman, cutting up her body and packing the fragments into a suitcase — which was later discovered by staff in a drainage ditch after her arm became detached and floated to the surface.
Gabriela Lima Santana is believed to have been murdered in a bathroom, The US Sun announced, citing local media reports.
She was reported missing on March 13 but is presumed to have vanished much earlier, the news outlet reports.
Municipal employees in Capao da Canoa found her remains when removing garbage in the field with an excavator.
According to the outlet, one of Santana's arms allegedly fell out when a worker used the heavy machine to lift luggage in front of frightened employees. The limb sank to the bottom of the pool and floated to the surface.
forensics experts retrieved the victim's head, torso, legs, and other arm from the suitcase, according to The US Sun, citing news outlet Caboco.
Investigators discovered saws and knives suspected to have been used to dismember the young woman alongside the body pieces. Additionally, the suitcase held rocks that were obviously put inside to cause it to sink.
The victim's fingerprints and distinctive tattoos, one of which was allegedly affiliated with a local gang, were reportedly used to identify her.
The grisly finding prompted investigators to investigate a disturbing video they had previously received in which a woman was seen being hacked inside a bathroom by a smiling killer.
It was unclear how police obtained the heinous video, but they have detained two suspects, including a 23-year-old who reportedly filmed the film, according to the outlet.
Two additional suspects are sought.
