Fatal Shooting in Caboolture Brisbane: 23-Year-Old Woman Gunned Down in Railway Parade
A young woman’s life was tragically cut short in the early hours of Sunday morning after she was reportedly chased down and fatally shot on Railway Parade in Caboolture, north of Brisbane. The 23-year-old victim was found unconscious and not breathing on the footpath outside a residence on Railway Parade just after midnight. Despite efforts by emergency services to revive her, she was declared dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed that the woman was assaulted by two male assailants before being shot. Early investigations suggest the attackers chased her down the street, culminating in a brutal and fatal assault. Detective Inspector David Harbison stated that the deceased was assaulted by two male persons who may have chased her down Railway Parade. During that assault, the victim received a gunshot wound.
The public nature of the crime has left the community shaken. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area shortly before the woman’s body was discovered. One neighbor described the chilling scene, recalling hearing three or four gunshots and then a little bit of whimpering, followed by a man yelling out. Another neighbor described the incident as very scary.
Police have ruled out the possibility of this being a random attack, stating that the victim and her assailants were known to each other. However, no arrests have been made, and the offenders remain at large. Detective Inspector Harbison emphasized that while the public nature of this crime is alarming, police do not believe this to be a random attack.
A crime scene has been established, and a dedicated task force, including specialist homicide detectives, has been deployed to investigate the case. Operation Whiskey Cortland has been launched to unravel the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death.

Detective Inspector Harbison pleaded, "There’s people out there who know who these people are. Do the right thing. A young 23-year-old has lost her life in tragic circumstances."
