Westjet Passenger tried to open plane door, landing at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport
Some fool on a WestJet flight from Van City to T-Dot thought it'd be a good idea to pop open the cabin door mid-air. Can you believe that? Next thing you know, the whole flight's gotta make an emergency touchdown in Winnipeg.
So, like, the plane had to make this detour around 4 p.m., and when they landed, the Manitoba RCMP and all those emergency crews were there waiting. According to this chick, Madison Kruger from WestJet, they got the situation under control and cuffed the troublemaker. She's saying they're trained for this kinda stuff, you know, handling unruly passengers and keeping everyone safe.
Oh, and get this, Kruger's saying you can't just pop open those airplane doors when you're cruising at high altitudes. It's all pressurized and locked down tight. But hey, even with all the drama, they still managed to get the flight to Toronto, just a little behind schedule.
Then there's this dude Michel Rosset from the Winnipeg Airports Authority, talking about how Winnipeg's like a go-to spot for emergency landings 'cause of its prime location. Apparently, it's a hot spot for planes coming from the States or flying across the pond to Europe. Makes sense, I guess.
And yo, remember that incident on an Air Canada flight from Calgary to Toronto? Same deal, emergency landing in Winnipeg 'cause some punk was acting up. These guys see it all, man.
But hey, as for charges and stuff, nobody's spillin' the beans on that yet. RCMP ain't saying squat. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens with that troublemaker.
