Svetlana Travis-Zakharova accused Eliot Spitzer, fiancé roxana girand
Before going to the hospital, Spitzer used another person's name.
It was in February of 2016 when Eliot Spitzer went to a Manhattan hospital to see the woman who said Spitzer tried to choke on hours earlier. He used an alias.
New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton was also mentioned by Spitzer, 62, to cops who were investigating the Plaza Hotel incident. Spitzer also said that blood found in the hotel room after Svetlana Travis-Zakharova slit her wrist was from her menstrual cycle, according to investigative documents that lawyers for the New York Post fought to have opened.
According to a long text message exchange between the disgraced Democrat and the purported former $5,000-a-night prostitute, the then-25-year-old woman said she would make it worse for Spitzer than when he resigned as governor in 2008 because it was revealed that he was having sex with a different prostitute.
The newly found documents give more information about the incident that led Travis-Zakharova to accuse Spitzer of assault, which she later changed her story about. Spitzer said she was trying to get money from him.
Police say Spitzer met Travis-Zakharova in her $1,000-a-night Plaza Hotel suite on the afternoon of Feb. 13, 2016. A March 15, 2016, preliminary investigation worksheet by Sergeant Michael Giuffre says they had "a drink."
The then-25-year-old told Spitzer that she was going back to Russia the next day and would stay there for good. It was about an hour after Spitzer left the Midtown hotel that he called her 30 times in the next three hours, "threaten[ing] her and attempting to keep her from going back to Russia."
At 7 p.m. he returned to her room, “grabbed her by her wrists and threw her back on the bed. He put his hands on her neck or throat while standing over her, and he put pressure on her for at least three (3) seconds before she couldn't breathe again, the report said.
She told police that in order to get out of the room and "scare" Spitzer, she took a wine glass and broke it. She also cut herself on her wrist.
At around 8 p.m. a 911 call was made, and the person was taken to the hospital.
On her period: "She's going through her period." "I just came to help," Spitzer told police when they saw blood on the wall and door.
"Thank you for coming. She's okay now. People say he said, "Do I need to call Bill?," which is a joke about the NYPD's top cop.
At 11 p.m., he went to an unknown hospital in all black and a hat and said he was George, security footage shows. Two hours later, he called the hospital to ask about Travis-Zakharova, and he used the same fake name to get in touch with them.
"George Fox" was the name of a friend that Spitzer used when he went out with prostitutes in 2008. The Post said that. By then, Spitzer said sorry to the man for using a fake name.
In the aftermath of the incident between Spitzer and Travis-Zakharova, a text message chain that had been sealed showed that there were still a lot of problems between them. The woman said she was at the police station and was ready to talk about their relationship.
Text messages between Travis-Zakharova and Spitzer show that Travis-Zakharova made sure Spitzer's phone number was saved in her phone as "Elliot My Love." She also made sure Spitzer's daughters and everyone else knew who he was.
Can we talk about this the same way we have talked about other things in the past? Spitzer said this.
"It's going to be worse than 2008."
Let's talk about how you're going to kill my mother and my dog. What do you think about that? Travis-Zakharova said that.
Why do you do this? Spitzer said, "Let's talk, because we did so well together."
You can hire any lawyer you want, but I'm not your friend anymore. You messed up every little thing, and you just want me to die. It would be better if I died in California, right? Now, "you wouldn't have to deal with this."
'Have no idea what you're talking about. I've been taking care of you for years, and I'm going to keep it up.'
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer and Travis-Zakharova, the woman who said Spitzer had threatened her and paid her to "insert sex toys into his anal cavity, walk him around the floor on all fours with a leash," agreed to a secret settlement.
If Travis-Zakharova called Spitzer or talked about the case, she would have to pay him $100,000, which was "based in part on both damages Mr. Spitzer has suffered and funds he has previously paid to her." Her extortion case against Spitzer was dropped in exchange.
It happened in October 2017, when Travis-Zakharova tried to steal from a man who co-signed her lease on a Manhattan apartment. She tried to steal from him, but she didn't get away with it. She served a short jail term.
