Hilary Duff has revealed that she is suffering from "traumatic lightning crotch" during her third pregnancy.
As she prepares to welcome her third child with husband Matthew Koma, Hilary Duff has announced she is dealing with a 'traumatic' pregnancy side effect.
In a recent interview, Hilary Duff surprised fans by disclosing some serious pregnancy pains.
During an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last week, the Texas native revealed personal details about her pregnancy.
“The other day, I texted my midwife and asked, 'What's up with the stabbing pains in my vagina?' Duff told guest host Brooke Baldwin, "I'm not enjoying this."
“It feels terrible, as if you've been hit by lightning!” And she just wrote back, saying, 'Oh, lightning crotch,' as if it wasn't a big deal. And I said to myself, 'This is very traumatic.'
Thankfully, she clarified that it was perfectly natural. The word "lightning" refers to the baby preparing for birth and falling, which triggers "stabbing pains in your vaginal region."
Her interview comes after her friends threw her a lavish baby shower to mark the birth of her third child this week.
On Thursday, the 33-year-old Younger actress posted a photo montage from a party hosted by her friend Sharmeen Bhamani on Instagram.
She captioned the photos, "My dear sweet (Sharmeen), I can't thank you enough for preparing the most special day."
“I honestly wasn't planning on a party like this for baby No. 3 during these times,” she added, “but you found a way to force everyone into testing haha and honestly the day was so relaxing.”
“I spent quality time with many of my L.A. friends whom I haven't seen in such a long time, and I deeply missed my long-distance friends. I adore each and every one of these ladies.”
“For turning up in (her) life in the thick and thin,” the Lizzie McGuire alum said, adding, "The thick being holy s – t I'm having a third child." “Send assistance!”
Duff and her husband Matthew Koma revealed in October that they were expecting their second child. Banks, the couple's 2-year-old daughter, is also part of the family.
With ex-husband Mike Comrie, Duff has an eight-year-old son named Luca.
Duff even has a children's book coming out later this month, as though she wasn't still overworked.
The song, titled "My Little Brave Girl," was "inspired by my experiences as a mother," according to the singer.
