A great-grandfather’s dream vacation turned into a nightmare when Harry Wright was brutally killed during an alleged burglary at his home in Morwell, Victoria. The elderly man, in his 90s, was found dead by police just days before he was set to embark on the cruise he had been eagerly anticipating.
Authorities rushed to Wright’s home shortly after 9pm on Thursday following reports of an aggravated burglary. There, they discovered his lifeless body. Also found at the scene was a 42-year-old homeless man, who has since been charged with aggravated burglary and remains in police custody. Shockingly, he has yet to be charged in connection with Wright’s death.
Wright’s murder has shattered his family, who are still reeling from the loss of his wife just six months ago. His daughter, Karen Cassar, described how terrified her father must have been in his final moments, emphasizing that he had no way to protect himself.
