Diane Watts murder, mcminnville tn obituary twitter facebook
Myers was charged with the murder of three women and the attempted murder of another. He was checked out on ID.
This TV show is looking into what happened to Delores "Dianne" Watts and her daughter Jessica Watts as well as Jessica's best friend, Chelsie Smith, when they were killed.
With the help of Dianne's boyfriend, Raymond "Doug" Myers, and his friend Johnny Lewis, Myers killed the three of them. Myers also killed his mother and brother.
When a fire started in Dianne Watts' house on July 30, 1999, the McMinnville fire department was called. A neighbor saw the fire and called 911.
There were the bodies of Dianne, 42, and her young daughter, Jessica, 10. They found them inside the house. Jessica's friend, 13-year-old Chelsie Smith, was also found dead. She had chosen that night to have a sleepover with her friend.
The police found out that the fire was started to hide the three horrifying murders that took place. When they went to check on Jessica and Chelsie, they found that gasoline had been sprayed all over them.
Tests on Dianne, the two girls, and a metal baseball bat found that they had all been struck by blunt force trauma. Both items were found in the house near the bodies.
When the killers set the house on fire and killed Dianne, she had a blunt force injury. The two girls died from smoke inhalation, which means that they were alive when the killers started the fire.
Doug Myers, Dianne Watts's boyfriend, was found guilty of killing her and her friend.
Police quickly became suspicious of Dianne's boyfriend Doug Myers. He was arrested less than a week after the killings.

In addition, police charged Doug's friend Johnny Lewis, his mother, Clemintine Myers, and his brother, Gary Myers, with killing him.
It is thought that the four killers planned to kill Dianne because they thought she was going to tell the cops that they were breaking the law and that she was going to report them. The two girls were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It had been stolen from Gary Myers home before the murders happened. It was a lockbox that was said to have evidence of fraud on Gary's part, but it was never found. Clementine thought Dianne had stolen the lockbox for no reason.
Clementine Myers talked about how Dianne was "running her mouth" and how they would have to "shut her up." The police found witnesses who said they heard Myers say this.
Dianne's sister also told the police that she had overheard Clementine talking on the phone about killing people and putting their bodies in the trash. Doug Myers gave Lewis $900 from Clementine the day after the murder, so he could buy a car.
He bought five two-gallon jugs of gasoline the day before they were killed.
Doug Myers was found guilty of first-degree murder and setting fire to a house. He was given a sentence of life in prison, plus 24 years. For second-degree murder, Lewis was given 65 years in prison, and he was found guilty of that crime.
Clementine and Gary Myers were also charged with first-degree murder, as well.
