Courtney Clenny, a model for OnlyFans, has been charged with killing her boyfriend.
Courtney Cheney, who has 2 million followers on Instagram, is said to have stabbed Christian Obumseil during a fight in their Miami luxury apartment building.
Reports say that OnlyFans star Courtney Clenney has been charged with murder after her ex-boyfriend was stabbed to death in their Miami apartment earlier this year.
The 25-year-old social media influencer, who goes by the name Courtney Tailor, was arrested in Hawaii on Wednesday. She is currently waiting to be sent to Florida, where she will be charged with second-degree murder for allegedly killing Christian Obumseli, 27, in April, according to her defense attorney, Frank Prieto, who spoke to the Miami Herald.
Clenney was being treated for drug abuse and PTSD at a rehab center in Hawaii when she was picked up by the police, her lawyer said.
"I'm completely shocked, especially since we were helping with the investigation and offered to give her up if she was charged," Prieto told the paper. "We hope that the court will clear her name."
The model was caught almost four months after prosecutors started looking into the fatal stabbing again, according to the New York Post.
Clenney, who has 2 million followers on Instagram, is said to have stabbed Obumseli in the chest on April 3 after they got into a fight at their luxury apartment building in Miami's posh Edgewater neighborhood.
Her lawyer says that Clenney attacked Obumseil out of self-defense because he had been following her for weeks.
Prieto said that the Instagram star had to stab Obumseli because he had her by the throat.
The lawyer also said that the couple, who had been together for less than two years, had broken up at the time.
TMZ got a video from the scene that showed Clenney handcuffed and covered in blood while wearing a bra.
The Herald says that the couple had been living together at the apartment building for a few months, where staff had seen them fight with each other and even tried to kick them out.
The lawyer for Obumseli's family, Larry Handfield, asked the police to reopen the case. He said that police had been to the couple's home at least four times for domestic issues, but Obumseli was never arrested or charged.
Handfield also made it clear that Clenney wasn't taken into custody even though he was wanted for public intoxication in California in 2015. At the time of the killing, Clenney was also supposed to go to court in Texas on a DUI charge from 2020.
Officials said the model said she wanted to kill herself after Obumseli was killed and spent some time in a mental hospital.
