Teacher imprisoned for having sex with a 13-year-old student taught other inmates.
According to prison documents, a former Arizona teacher serving a 20-year term for sexually abusing her 13-year-old student tutored other criminals behind bars.
According to online records from the Arizona Department of Corrections database, Brittany Zamora, 30, was assigned as a tutor/educator between Sept. 17 and Oct. 14.
The filthy former elementary school teacher aided education employees at the Arizona State Prison Complex in Perryville, the Department of Corrections stated in a statement to Law & Crime, which first revealed the assignment.
"Inmate Zamora assisted the education personnel with group instruction for the inmate students. At all times, she was directly supervised by educational instructors, and classes are routinely inspected and monitored by security employees, COIIs, and/or supervisors," the DOC stated. "All education classrooms are also constantly watched by video surveillance and security personnel."
Zamora requested the job assignment, according to the DOC, and was cleared via a procedural screening process. According to the organization, she met the standards for the post because she had no disciplinary difficulties throughout her incarceration.
Zamora was arrested and charged with molesting a sixth-grade pupil in March 2018. According to the victim, he had sex with the married 27-year-old instructor multiple times in her car and classroom.
She pleaded guilty to sexual behavior with a youngster and was sentenced in July 2019 on reduced charges of child molestation and public sexual obscenity.
She filed for divorce from her four-year husband Daniel Zamora in May 2020, claiming the relationship was "broken beyond repair."
She has been appointed as the assigned porter for the prison's programs section since Oct. 14, the DOC said.
She previously worked as a kitchen assistant on four additional times, according to records.
